Thank you to all the incoming freshman parents (and a few returning player parents) for joining us last night.
A couple of "house keeping" reminders.
If your daughter makes one of the four summer teams, there are a couple of things that are due on May 22nd.
1. ALL summer waivers (there are three) are due on May 22nd (Grass/Jocks on the Rocks, Englewood, and BYU camp waivers) at the beginning of practice on Wednesday. These can be found via a link on the top of the ladyrebelvolleyball.com page once you log in to our site. Click Main (at the top of the page) and look for the link titled Click Here for 2013 Lady Rebel Summer Volleyball Waivers. Your daughter cannot participate in any summer program activities until we have all waivers.
2. In order to log into the site, you must become a member. If you have not yet signed up for the site, please do this ASAP. This is how we communicate EVERYTHING for the program. Teams, coaches, parents can also use the site to communicate about game times, t-shirt colors to wear for Englewood, carpools and etc.
3. All summer fees are also due on May 22nd. The fee sheet is posted right below the waivers on the login site. If you have any questions about the fees please either contact Coach Mel or Debra Powell. Checks should be made out to CHS Summer Volleyball. Do not make checks out to CHS or Columbine High School.
Finally, for those parents that were not in attendance last night, if you have any questions about extended vacations over the summer and whether or not your daughter should tryout for a summer team, please contact Coach Mel before Monday's tryouts. Our entire summer schedule can be found on the Rebel calendar on the website. We have a combination of strength and agility, grass volleyball, once a week games at Englewood, various tournaments in July, and a team camp in August. All of these programs are designed to prepare the teams for the Fall season. It is important that your daughter be available, if she makes a summer team, to participate in the various team activities and matches. Also as a reminder, making a Summer team does not guarantee your daughter a spot on a Fall team. We hold tryouts for the Fall program again in August.
Finally, there are also optional grass camps offered by Coach Brett throughout the summer at Clement Park. These are excellent camps that work on a variety of skills and provide additional training. These camps are also option if your daughter is unable to participate in the summer program so that she can continue to work on skills over the summer. These camps do not conflict with any of the summer program activities. All information about Coach Brett's camps can be found on the website under Optional Summer Grass Camps.
If, after going through the information about the summer program on our website, you still have general questions, please feel free to contact either Coach Mel or Debra Powell. You can send us an email directly from the website.
We look forward to seeing you all at some point in the summer. Enjoy the remainder of the school year and look forward to a great summer season.
Go Lady Rebels!!!!
